You Are Invited!
Join us in our “Income Tax at 100: What Were They Thinking?” campaign!2013 marks the 100th anniversary of a continuous income tax, and Patrick & Robinson CPAs hopes to use this event to raise awareness of the increasingly complex tax code. Originally 400 pages long, the 2013 code now comprises more than 74,000 pages. There are several ways to participate:
- Share your creative talents and create a birthday card to be mailed to members of Congress. Patrick & Robinson will make a donation to a worthwhile charitable organization for each entry received. Find the complete guidelines and entry form at our website, www.CPAsite.com. The deadline for cards to be received is October 15, 2013
- Like us on Facebook and post your thoughts about the tax code.
- Follow our daily blog as we stroll through the past 100 years and review some important (and other not-so-important) events of the last century.
We hope you’ll join us, especially in contacting Members of Congress to encourage them to get behind a simpler tax code. Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson suggested that simply eliminating the complexity of getting to the taxable income would enable tax rates to be reduced by 44%!If we can help you, let us know.
