Work Hard, Play Hard: We’re Maintaining the Right Balance
The only constant in life is change…you’ve likely heard that saying before. At Patrick & Robinson CPAs, we’ve understood this fact for a long time—and often deliberately initiate change to give you the combined personal and state-of-the-art service you expect in managing your financial life.Well, here we go again: During the summer months, starting May 12th, we’ll be working LONGER days, Monday through Thursday in return for a slightly shorter Friday. We found most our clients don’t call, Email, or stop by on Fridays, so we’re hoping you’ll appreciate the longer four days with a shorter fifth.Friday’s office hours will be 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. While our typical “workweek” shifts to 4.5 days, your accounting firm will still maintain its 40-hour-per-week (minimum!) schedule…the hours are simply divided differently.Research shows the benefits of a lengthy weekend encourage work-life balance, and putting in a couple extra hours Monday through Thursday in exchange for a short day Friday proves a great trade off. According to Opinion Research Corporation, “66 percent of employees who have half-day Fridays felt more productive as a result of this flexibility.”Moreover, at Patrick & Robinson CPAs, family remains our top priority. Half-day Fridays enable our talented team of professionals to spend a slightly longer weekend with their family and friends. Rather than waiting till Saturday to hit the beach or golf course, “freebie” Friday afternoons provide a nice change and head-start.Also, that mile-long weekly “To-Do” list relinquishes its power a bit, relieving some pressure to fit everything (personal and job-related) into a five-day workweek. Those pesky errands – grocery shopping, dry cleaning, or even the necessary doctor appointments – can now be a bit more manageable with the flexibility of a free weekday afternoon. After yet another annual, crazy-busy tax season, the initiation of half-day Fridays could not come at a better time. So if you happen to see a member of our P&R team this summer enjoying a little “R & R” on a Friday afternoon, never fear: he or she will be back Monday, refreshed and even better prepared to provide your accounting, assurance and bookkeeping services. At Patrick & Robinson CPAs, our accounting team holds decades of experience serving the business community and individuals with complex tax needs.
